DP calls National Council, changes to secretariats and vice-chairs
Berisha

The Democratic Party is convening its National Council this afternoon, at 6:00 PM, where the main item on the agenda will be the election of the leadership team that will assist the party chairman.

Two months after the uncontested re-election of Sali Berisha as head of the DP, the composition of the leadership is also expected to pass without surprises.

No changes are expected in the post of Secretary General at the National Council meeting, where Flamur Noka is seeking a new mandate. So far, the name of any rival has not been made public, which has not given the members of the Council the opportunity to get acquainted with an alternative candidate or his platform. Reconfirmation is also expected for the head of the Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, as well as for the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Agron Gjekmarkaj.

Limited changes are expected in the vice-chairs and secretariats. Luçiano Boçi is running for the vice-chair position, while Belind Këlliçi and Klevis Balliu are also expected to be included in the list of names. Meanwhile, Oerd Bylykbashi will not run for re-election for this position, while Sali Berisha is also expected to nominate Erisa Bajaziti, a representative of the diaspora.

Earlier, Ivi Kaso, who has headed the Secretariat for Legal and Electoral Affairs of the Democratic Party for 12 years, announced that he will not run for re-election. He argued this decision with his commitments as an MP, member of the DP Presidency and vice-chair of the Committee for Civic Initiatives, Cooperation and Institutional Oversight.
