Lulzim Basha has decided not to take responsibility if he loses the elections by 'cementing' his position at the head of the Democratic Party, but his right wing did not like this.
In the meeting of the National Assembly of the official DP, the absence of the former Head of the Parliamentary Group, the former acting head of the DP, Enkelejd Alibeaj, was noticed.
Alibeaj, through a press release, justified his absence with party commitments outside Albania. But is there another reason for Alibeaj to be absent from this very important activity of the official PD?
It is learned that Alibeaj has declared in the meetings of the official DP Presidency that he would support Lulzim Basha only if a provision was placed in the statute that if the chairman lost the 2025 elections, he would resign.
But this did not happen, since in the statutory amendments that are expected to be approved, there is no provision to force the official DP Chairman to leave the party leadership if he loses the next elections.
In the DP statute, in article 45, it talks about the role of the president of the DP, while there is no point that compels him to resign if he loses the elections.
