The 15th consecutive protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office was accompanied by strong speeches and messages from the participants, and among those who spoke was journalist Osman Stafa.
Speaking to the protesters, Stafa emphasized that he was present not in his capacity as a journalist, but as a citizen, describing the civic movement as an important moment for Albanian society.
"I am from you, not as a journalist. For 15 days in Tirana, in Albania and in the diaspora, history was made. Albanians stood up after 35 years for Albania and dignity, against corruption. We are on the right side of history and we are making history," he declared.
In his speech, Stafa focused on the issues that, according to him, have prompted citizens to protest, mentioning corruption, depopulation, the state of health and education, as well as the lack of prospects for young people.
He criticized Prime Minister Edi Rama, saying that he has not addressed the main concerns of citizens since the protests began.
"We are protesting against corruption and depopulation, for healthcare and education. Only one person does not know why we are here, and that is Prime Minister Edi Rama. He has not said a word about prices, corruption, education or our future ," said Stafa.
According to him, citizens should not give up on protests, despite expectations that the movement may lose momentum over time.
"They are waiting for us to get tired. How can we get tired, when they don't get tired of stealing and abusing, stealing our hope and future? Our agenda is Albania, theirs is theft," he said.
At the end of his speech, Stafa called on citizens to stay united and not allow the protest to die down, describing it as a rare opportunity to demand change.
"Let's come together for the future. Let's not let it fade away, because this will never happen again," he concluded, amid applause from the protesters.
