Activist Ilir Xhemalaj said they have faced numerous threats and pressures to give up their protests against Edi Rama's government. He claims they have even been intimidated by their family members.
The activist stated that despite intimidation, they will not leave the square until Prime Minister Edi Rama leaves.
"In these days of protests, we have received countless threats, pressures, both in the square, through messages, phone calls and everywhere. Even at the door of the house. They say, retreat. Why do you say Rama in prison, Berisha in prison. They tried to intimidate us through family members. We will not retreat. We will be in that square until the prime minister resigns," he said.
He also touched on the clashes during the protest in front of the Parliament during last Sunday's session, where protesters were confronted with police violence and tear gas.
"I filmed the police who carried out that attack on the sitting protesters. They put us in front, they dragged us. We were thrown tear gas. I couldn't open my eyes for 30 minutes, my breathing was heavy. We couldn't see for 30 minutes. We were attacked by the police. It was a peaceful protest," he added to News24.
