The head of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, in a conference held for the media, stated that open lists are a priority of the Democratic Party.
Focusing on the debate about the 'stamp', Basha said that he will speak about this issue when the decision on the 'stamp' is made.
Basha mocked Berisha at the end of the conference, where he said that he does not want to take up the media time of the street hurricane.
Another issue that Basha focused on was vetting, stating that he wanted vetting of all politicians, while he said that vetting can start from the first one.
"Lulzim Basha is ready to start the vetting first, what about Sali Berisha?", said the leader of the DP, among other things.
He also said that he met with one of the most important ambassadors in Tirana yesterday, but did not prefer to give names.
" The open lists, the equality of the vote, which means for us, Albania, an electoral area. Such shows as we saw in the Commission serve only those who do not want electoral reform. It is a trap that the DP will not be able to easily fall into. They should give up such behavior, they will definitely have a toy in their hand that will definitely break the table and come to make the contribution they were voted for. They have the same mission as Edi Rama, he doesn't like open lists either. They don't care about anything more than your chair, they want to give it to the Albanians once again. Instead of fighting, let Hoxha sit down and do his job properly.
I kindly ask you not to ignore it next week. Yes or no for open lists? If the answers are yes, we need to take action. Edi Rama knows that with this code he is not included in the elections, for that code to be amended he needs a minimum of 84 votes and for this process to serve the interests of the citizens, each party must show the cards for what they are playing for. DP is playing for clear interests, open lists", said Basha, adding: "Two days ago, they attacked two lady MPs, today they treated Damian Gjiknuri, like old friends. Why did they let the Conference of Presidents take place? Why didn't they block it?
I have said that the Electoral Reform Commission is a formula. Like no other Commission, it consists of half the majority and half the opposition. There is no lack of representation. We know the numbers, we've seen them, I don't want to take up media time for the street hurricane. "- said Basha.
