Democratic Party MP Oerd Bylykbashi has commented on the latest political developments in the country.
He said that the situation with the constitutional order is dramatic, as he added that Prime Minister Rama has brutalized the Constitution.
Bylykbashi said that the reason that the opposition did not participate today in the special session in the Parliament within the framework of the 25th anniversary of the Constitution, was because it considers this as a "farce".
"The situation with the constitutional order is dramatic. It is indeed a 25-year-old, but it must be viewed critically. The Constitution, due to the changes it has undergone that have been unbalanced, the way Rama has brutalized the Constitution in recent years has made the latter less and less relevant for the governance of Albanians.
If it should be the basis for the functioning of the state, we know that it is no longer the case. The prime minister has turned the government into prime ministerial government, the parliament is no longer representative of the will of the sovereign.
Now more and more the government is preferring to proceed with normative acts by making agreements like that of immigrants who were initially told that they would not come to parliament. We could not be a farce in such a process.
Rama cannot deny the constitutional rights of the opposition, such as investigative commissions. The internationals also expressed that the commissions are a means of controlling the opposition and must be guaranteed to the opposition. All the issues that we ask to be investigated are of public interest as they investigate the abuse of public funds of Albanians", said Bylykbashi for "News 24".
