Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting with citizens in Berat, where he commented on political developments and polls that show high support for the Socialist Party. In his speech, Rama stated that the Socialist Party enjoys the majority of popular support, despite the skepticism of political commentators and critics.
" When you turn on the TV in the evening, you see independent polls that unanimously say that the SP has the majority of the Albanian people ," Rama said, adding that some commentators react with surprise to this fact and try to explain it with reasons such as fear, greed or a "sick" people.
The Prime Minister stated that these justifications are worthless and that the only reason for this support is the fact that the Socialist Party is the best alternative for Albanians.
" The SP did not fall from the sky. It is not a party of angels, but it is a party of Albanians that may not be perfect, but there is nothing better than the SP. The SP is not the lesser evil, it is the greater good that Albanians can choose ," Rama said.
He emphasized that the opposition should prepare to experience "the bitter taste of a deserved defeat," as according to him, citizens will support themselves by supporting the Socialist Party.
