Deputy Jorida Tabaku stated that today Albanian pensioners are the least supported class and at the same time the poorest class, as she added that the pension reform of 2014 failed.
Through a reaction on the "Facebook" social network, she added that the system is facing a crisis, since according to her, the number of pensioners increases every year by 15 thousand, while the number of contributors is always decreasing.
" Today, Albanian pensioners are the class least supported by the state budget, but at the same time the poorest class. 90% of them are on the poverty line, while the number of pensioners increases every year by 15 thousand, the number of contributors is always decreasing.
This is due to two elements: first, mass immigration affecting the skilled workforce, young people and the middle class, and second, high informality; Clearly, the pension reform of 2014 failed.
It failed to provide dignified pensions, it failed to provide a sustainable scheme and it also failed to reward the sacrifice of pensioners with contributions. Today we find ourselves in a dilemma where 1/3 of the population is of retirement age and we lose our competitive and quality advantage. And what does the government do in this regard? What is the government's response to the increase in the number of pensioners and immigration ", writes Tabaku.
