In this Monday's session, the Parliament did not vote for the dismissal of the Minister of Economy and Finance, Delina Ibrahimaj.
In order to carry out this procedure, the chairman of the Financial Supervision Authority, Ervin Mete, who will replace Ibrahimaj, must first be relieved of his duties.
Today, exactly this vote took place, the dismissal of Mete. According to the procedure of the Assembly, Ervin Mete submitted the request for removal from the position of director of AMF and this was voted in today's plenary session.
The explanation for this procedural impasse was given by Eduard Shalsi, who, at the meeting of the Economic Commission, clarified that:
"As a rule, before approving Ervin Mete's position as Minister of Finance, the Assembly must approve his resignation from the Board of the Financial Supervision Authority and the post of head of this institution. So the decision to release Mr. Ervin Mete is voted. It is approved. Mr. Erion Braçe is against it", Shalsi said.
The secret ballot for the removal of Ervin Metes from the AMF received 95 votes in favor, 1 vote of abstention and 5 votes against.
Until the next session, Delina Ibrahimaj will remain in the position of Minister of Finance in office, while she has not yet taken over the position of Edona Bilal, who was dismissed from the position of Minister for Enterprise Protection.
In the next session, the two ministers Mete and Ibrahimaj will be voted on.
