The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, at the Diaspora Summit on Arbëreshe Day, held today at the Palace of Congresses, said that it is a privilege to welcome and address the great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren of our national hero, Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu.
He said that even though they have been fully integrated into the Italian community, the people of Arbëresh have fanatically preserved their values and customs.
" It is a privilege, in addition to a special pleasure, to address the great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren of Skanderbeg's relatives in the language of Skanderbeg, here today, on the day of Arbëresh. The Arbëreshes have been fully integrated into the great Italian community and all the good things of that community have not wasted their trust, which today is being challenged not by the negligence of the Arbëreshes, but by time, which is bringing many storms of a demographic nature to all and at the same time it is bringing unimaginable news, until yesterday for children, who are becoming a world concern for learning and raising the language of the country where we live ", said Rama.
The Prime Minister also stated that the museum of Arbëresh will be established in Albania, which according to him has its place in Skënderbeu Castle.
"The idea of the arboretum museum in Albania was also born. We don't have a museum, while the Arbëresh committee has fanatically preserved extraordinary relics and the representatives of that community are more than willing to have the Arbëresh museum in Albania, for which we have found a place and where else, except in Skanderbeg Castle ", he said.
