Albania's Ambassador to the US, Ervin Bushati, shared a "selfie" photo with US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, and says he conveyed to him Prime Minister Edi Rama's invitation to visit Albania.
"Secretary Marco Rubio is a friend of the Albanians. On behalf of Prime Minister RAMA, I invited him to visit Tirana; the Gateway to the Balkans for the US, for two reasons:
-Albania is also a miracle of American diplomacy: from a communist dictatorship that was known as the "North Korea of Europe", today to the most pro-American & pro-NATO country anywhere.
-I invited him on behalf of a small nation, but with a big heart like Mother Teresa: our message tomorrow to the EU "more Love and more service with humility", writes Ambassador Ervin Bushati, revealing that Rubio has accepted the invitation.
The United States of America celebrated Independence Day yesterday on July 4th and invited to Washington were representatives of diplomatic missions in the US, among them Albanian Ambassador Ervin Bushati.
"Secretary Rubio accepted the invitation with pleasure - also in function of the very busy agenda of American Diplomacy today - to visit "a country that he values as a contributor to NATO, especially after his recent visit to The Hague," the ambassador concludes his writing.
