Migen Qiraxhi, leader of "Civic Stability", commenting on the composition of the new Parliament, which will begin work in September 2025, said that we have a dramatic clash between what we were and what we have today.
From the News24 studio, Qiraxhi said that once in the Albanian Parliament there were honorable people, bright figures like Gjergj Fishta, while in the new Parliament it will be Sara Mile or Zegjine Ccaushi.
" Does the current Parliament make us proud or not? But we have to go back a little, to understand if we ever had one. Even as a history enthusiast, the only period I can refer to that I can say that we had some kind of pride was that of 2021-2023, when the names were Luigj Gurakuqi, Gjergj Fishta, Shefqet Vërlaci, Ahmet Zogu, Eshref Frashëri, Ali Këlcyra, Ndre Mjeda, Rexhep Mitrovica, Mustafa Kruja, Pandeli Vangjeli, most of these today we have street names or institutions.
What will come is Sara Mile, Zegjine Çaushi. These may be good within their political house, but they are not names that a Parliament wanted to feel proud of. A dramatic clash between what we were and what we are. In the last legislature, we have not seen any oversight of the Parliament over the Government, it has resulted in a mere notary , "said Qiraxhi.
