Calls for justice are growing louder by the hour in front of the Prime Minister's Office. One of the protesters has taken the microphone to demand that SPAK speed up the investigation into Prime Minister Edi Rama, comparing the Albanian failure to international accountability.
"From this square, we once again call on SPAK: investigate Rama!" - he concluded amid applause and cheers from the crowd, making it clear that the protesters will not stop until they see concrete actions from the Albanian judiciary.
In his speech, the protester made a sharp comparison with the reaction of international authorities, highlighting the two standards of justice.
"Albanian authorities should hurry up with the investigation. The Dutch Finance Minister has been summoned, but Rama has not yet been summoned," he said, emphasizing that while senior European officials are facing accountability for companies linked to Zvërnec, in Albania the head of government continues to remain untouched by the investigations.
His demand was clear and unequivocal: the prosecution can no longer act with double standards. Protesters in the square demanded that Rama be called to account just like his counterparts in Europe.
As the clock ticks down and the protest continues, the demand for justice is becoming louder and louder. "Investigate Rama!" is the cry that is echoing through the square, echoing a people who no longer accept to wait for justice.
