The deputies of the Socialist Party have proposed the postponement of the deadline of the Law on Strategic Investments and the change of the protected areas.
According to DP deputy, Jorida Tabaku, this is done to emphasize the natural wonders and our national parks.
According to Jorida Tabaku, corruption is the erosion of nature and the pockets of Albanians. According to her, the biggest crisis facing Albania today is exactly the way that opens up for investments in protected areas.
The democratic deputy states that the report of Transparency International showed the biggest concern and the biggest crisis that the institutions have today.

Socialist MPs have proposed postponing the term of the Law on Strategic Investments and changing the protected areas. Reason? Concreting our natural wonders and national parks. Corruption is the erosion of nature and the pockets of Albanians!
Yesterday's Transparency International report showed the biggest concern and the biggest crisis facing institutions today: the inability of the Parliament to control and supervise the Government. The omnipotent power of the Government, which unfortunately also extends to the Parliament, is turning into a real problem and a real threat to corruption. What is happening in the Parliament meanwhile? 2 initiatives, both proposed by socialist deputies, are being discussed. The first is the law of strategic investments, which started in 2015 as a temporary law but is being postponed for the fifth time with the proposal of the deputy to continue to pave the way for public and private assets which will now be for sale again because this it is a clientelistic and corrupt law.
I see it also related to the law of protected areas. Yes, a group of socialist MPs have asked to remove the protection and allow development up to 20%. A law that comes without consultation, with the concern of civil society, a law that even today, as we speak, has absolutely no improvement, which is also in violation of EU legislation, also related to the law of strategic investments will to say that strategic investments will be made in these protected areas. This is the biggest crisis facing Albania today. I know that people are worried about their pocket, about their economy but everything is related to the crisis of corruption, it is related to the crisis of state capture which basically has these two laws: laws that come from the drawer of who knows but laws that affect the pockets of all Albanians", says Tabaku.
