Democratic Party MP Asllan Dogjani spoke about the discovery of two cocaine laboratories in Tirana and Fushë-Kruje. He stated that criminal groups cannot set up narcotics laboratories without the support of the police.
Dogjani said that criminal groups do not only find the support of the police, but also of politics to build drug laboratories, the distribution of which is done not only in Tirana but throughout Albania.
According to the deputy, the fact that the narcotic substance is being widely used even among young people is also worrying.
"Those who come do not come to build a laboratory if they do not have the support of the state police. Building something like this has costs and requires a lot of money, and it is not dangerous without police-political support and they consider Albania like Italy in the 70s, or like the Sinaloa group today in Mexico, where criminal groups are mixed and cooperate with the state.
The support given by the police gives them the opportunity to build a cocaine laboratory, which is then distributed in Tirana, and the rest is trafficked. The majority is being distributed in Tirana and throughout Albania. They started using narcotics at a young age.
The first thing that impresses me is that we do not have successful operations without internationals. They are information received from outside. Xibraka, e.g. was run by internationals, without telling the State Police. And that's worrying.
Second, the change of police directors, those who have fled have severed ties with the groups and provided information from outside. The operations can also be debunked. In Albania and Tirana we have a laboratory that is connected to criminal groups, Tirana, Durrës Fushë-Krujë. There may be other laboratories, with Shkodra, Vlora, these criminal groups do not dare and come to build the laboratory in the center of Albania, in Tirana. Why have they not been discovered without the internationals? Criminal groups are used by politicians in electoral campaigns. They have become businessmen and launder the money. It's a big problem, Albania is getting empty and this is one reason," said Dogjani for "Syri Tv".
