In the Special Court, a hearing is held today for former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, who requested the removal of the house arrest measure, in which he has been since December 30, 2023 under charges of corruption for the "Partizani" affair.
The session with judge Irena Gjoka is expected to start at 11:00.
At the session, the lawyers of the former prime minister are expected to present an accounting expert report, made by private experts, among which they seek to prove that Jamarbër Malltezi, also under investigation for the "Partizani" file, did not benefit from the money with which SPAK claims to have bribed the former prime minister's father-in-law.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday at 10:50 a Criminal Panel composed of judges Ilir Panda, Sokol Binaj and Sandër Simoni will judge Berisha's claim to extinguish the first security measures against him, that of "obligation to appear" and " ban on exiting the country".
Berisha is under house arrest, a measure set by the Special Court, following the request of SPAK, for corruption together with his son-in-law, Jamarbër Malltezi, who is accused of having received income in the amount of 5.4 million euros from a construction business in irregular way thanks to government decisions made by his father-in-law.
From that day, Berisha gave speeches with a microphone from the window to a few representatives of Reestablishment, considering this a violation of the court's decision, according to which he is not allowed to communicate with people other than his close family circle. the same apartment where he is suffering the security measure.
