"The economy is in a bad state", Pampuri accuses Rama: In 11 years of

The deputy of the Democratic Party, Oriola Pampuri, stated that the economic situation of Albanian families and businesses is in a bad state.

Through a statement to the media, Pampuri states that the government of Prime Minister Rama continues to play a leading role in the new role of the organizer of international events.

According to Pampuri, in the 11 years of Edi Rama's government, the business environment has deteriorated, there is no meritocracy competition.

Furthermore, the democratic deputy states that the approach to the middle class is not stimulating, where with the new tax on over 200 free professions, the development and productivity in the country worsens.

"Beyond the hype throughout this week and the protagonism of Edi Rama in his new role as the organizer of international events, it is clear that he has completely distanced himself from the normal governance of the country and does not address the real problems of the citizens.

This is shown by the economic situation of families, businesses, farmers, young people and pensioners of the country. In the last two decades, the population of Albania has aged at a fast pace, almost twice more than the average rate of population aging in the EU countries. The rapid aging of the population, which coincides with the high number of people reaching retirement age on the one hand and the employment rate in the country at quite low rates from year to year on the other hand, which is leading to the exhaustion of full replacement ratio between contributors and pension beneficiaries.

Currently, the replacement rate is 1.1 contributors per retiree, while a decade ago it was 1.4.

But Albania is increasingly leaving Albania with tens and thousands of citizens deciding to take a foreign citizenship. According to EUROSTAT, in two decades, 604,000 Albanians have obtained a citizenship of the EU countries, from where only in the last decade (2013-2022) there are about half a million Albanians. Albania also has the highest unemployment rate among young people, over 32%.

In the 11 consecutive years of Edi Rama's government, the business environment has deteriorated, the lack of competition and meritocracy is also noticeable, continuing with a non-stimulating approach to the middle class, where with the new tax on over 200 professions cheap, the development and productivity in the country deteriorates. Stimulating policies are completely absent, as well as financing in innovation, start-up, or traditional development sectors of the country such as Agriculture and light processing industry are at levels several times lower than the countries of the region, which makes Albanian products not competitive either neither internally nor externally.

In the absence of a government at the service of citizens, transparent and accountable, which in fact is at the service of only a handful of oligarchs or people with close interests with the government through the concessions of abusive PPPs, who are suffocating our small economy , preventing it from growing and creating an environment that discourages citizens from building their future in Albania.

Albanians deserve a responsible, transparent and accountable government. A normal government, which focuses on the citizen and orients the country towards the development of well-being. The Democratic Party will soon unveil its program and governance model, which, through consultation with citizens and interest groups, will aim to give breathing space to families, businesses, young people and restore dignity to pensioners and other social strata," he said . Pampuri.
