SPAK refused his request to go to Parliament, Berisha revolts: Scenario to burn
Sali Berisha in SPAK

Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, after testifying on the "Partizan" case, said that SPAK has created obstacles for him to be allowed to go to Parliament.

According to him, this is part of the scenario to burn his mandate.

The law provides that if he does not go to the Parliament for six months, the mandate of the deputy is burned.

"Of course it is part of the script. This was an anti-constitutional act by the organized criminal group Dumani-Kraja-Millonai. This group had no competence to decide on my going to the parliament. This right belongs to the court. For the elected persons, the provision determines that their departure is decided after the final decision of the court. But these do not have laws and morals.

I am fully aware that the SKAP-ists have had close ties with McGonigal and at certain moments I will make them public. PD has sent a file to the US with the data we have," he said.

On January 19, the Special Prosecutor's Office (SPAK) rejected the request of Sali Berisha to appear in the plenary sessions of the Assembly, in the capacity of a deputy.

Through an announcement, it is reported that the special prosecutors have decided not to accept the request filed by Berisha's lawyers, who is currently under house arrest under the charge of passive corruption for the privatization of the 'Partizani' complex.

"The person under investigation Sali Berisha (represented by his defenders Sokol Mêngjesi and Genci Gjokutaj) filed on 15.01.2024 a request requesting his permission to participate in the plenary sessions of the Assembly, in the capacity of the deputy. After becoming familiar with the content of this request, with the decision dated 18.01.2024, the Prosecutors have decided not to accept it" - announced the Special Prosecutor's Office.
