President Bajram Begaj has reacted after the meeting with the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, with whom he talked about the importance of bilateral strategic relations, about developments in the region, solidarity with Ukraine and commitment to NATO allies.
Through a post on social networks, Begaj writes that this is an important visit for our country and proves that our strategic partnership is stronger than ever.
President Begaj expressed to Secretary Blinken his gratitude for what the USA has done and is doing for Albania, Kosovo and the region. He emphasized that Albania and the USA have been together in support of Ukraine as allies in NATO by contributing to missions in Afghanistan and Iraq.
"Welcome dear Secretary Blinken! This is a very important visit and proves that our strategic partnership is stronger than ever. This visit is a strong message in support of Albanians, our foreign policy and Albania's future in the path to EU integration.
We are grateful for what you are doing for Albania, Kosovo and the region. We are grateful for what the US has done and you are doing for Albanian democracy, the rule of law, especially justice reform, defense, security and cyber security, education and the economy through various support programs.
Albania and the US have been together in support of Ukraine as allies in NATO, contributing to missions in Afghanistan and Iraq. Albania is committed to continue contributing together with the US and NATO to regional and global security. I see this visit as a bright future for Albania, our strategic partnership that will last for more than 100 more years", writes Begaj.
