The President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, has reacted after the tragic event that occurred in Shëngjin, where two young people from Kosovo lost their lives, while three others were injured.
Through a public message, the head of state expressed his sorrow for the loss of young lives and conveyed his condolences to the families and relatives of the victims.
"It is with deep sadness that I learned about the tragic event that took the lives of two young people from Kosovo today in Shëngjin. In these difficult moments, I express my most sincere condolences to the families and relatives of the victims, while I wish a speedy recovery to their three friends," Begaj wrote.
The President emphasized that the tragedy should serve as an alarm for increased caution and compliance with safety measures in coastal areas.
He called on central and local institutions, as well as tourist operators, to take all necessary measures to guarantee the safety of vacationers during the summer season.
Begaj added that strengthening security mechanisms on beaches is vital for preventing similar events and protecting the lives of citizens and tourists who frequent the Albanian coast.

In these difficult moments, I express my most sincere condolences to the families and relatives of the victims, while wishing a speedy recovery to their three friends.
"This tragedy reminds us of the importance of care and respect for every safety measure on our beaches.
Given this serious case, I invite central and local institutions, as well as tourist operators, to take all necessary measures to guarantee safety on beaches throughout the summer season, in order to prevent such events and protect the lives of citizens and visitors," writes Bajram Begaj.
