After the government meeting, the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Enea Karakaçi, presented the approved decisions, while also focusing on the progress of works on the Tirana-Durres highway.
Asked about the concerns raised regarding pedestrian overpasses and the project to expand the Rinas overpass, he said that the institutions are open to discussing any additional needs that may arise during the implementation of the project.
Karakaçi announced that an overpass is currently being built near a shopping mall, while emphasizing that if deemed necessary, other overpasses could be added. According to him, field work is continuing according to plan, while the next phases of the project are at an advanced stage.
The Minister also announced that after the end of the summer season, the demolition of the existing Rinas overpass will begin, which will be replaced with a new four-lane overpass. In the meantime, work is focused on the Kashari overpass segment and the connecting nodes that will facilitate the movement of citizens and business activity along this road axis.
"It is evident that an overpass in front of a shopping mall is being built. We are completely open to sitting down and seeing if additional overpasses are needed. There have been three overpasses, but they have also been unused."
If more are needed, let's sit down and discuss, because they can be added to the road. The work is progressing and the next phase is in advanced stages. The plan is to demolish the Rinas overpass and build a new one with 4 lanes. It will start after the summer season, because there is now a flow. During this period, work is being done on the Kashari overpass segment. Work is also being done on the nodes that help commercial entities and citizens", said Karakaçi.
