The former deputy of the Democratic Party spoke from the USA about the elections that will be held tomorrow.
In a connection, Këlliçi said that the race is very close and that the Albanian community can make a difference in Michigan, one of the key states.
Asked about his commitment and that of his PD colleagues, Vokshi and Mediu, who have left for the USA, Kelliçi said that PD has the duty to support the sister party.
Excerpts from the conversation:
Belind Kelliçi: Harris was in Michigan yesterday. Meanwhile, today, I'm told, Trump is going to hold a meeting here in Michigan because the outcome is so close. It is one of three states where the race is completely open. In the vast majority of the contacts I have had, because it is the third time I have come within 6 weeks, I have met the Albanian diaspora, in the vast majority, over 70%-80% openly vote for Trump. It is the effect that Mr. Nesho said, a part of those who vote for Trump are silent, but this time, from the experience I had, a big difference can be seen in relation to the 2016 and 2020 elections, due to the fact that the people who voted more early, have come out as supporters of Mr. Trump. This is also due to the polarization of American politics today and the fear of Trump's supporters that an intervention may occur in the process.
There is an increased mobilization of Trump supporters to participate in the vote.
From the preliminary data, at almost 80 million, Harris has the lead also due to the high number of ladies who participated in the vote. But everything is decided tomorrow. Passing it on the streets of Michigan, it might be the 10/1 ratio of the signs being put up in favor of Trump. It's not like I got ahead of Trump. It was an agreed meeting. In the short time that I have spoken, I have spoken to him about Albania and the only similar thing, he knew very well the use of the justice system as a weapon against the political opponent. So the same thing that happened with prosecutors lobbied by the Soros foundation in the USA, the same thing happened in Albania, where prosecutors under the influence of the reform in justice and the Open Society, have taken the same steps.
Ylli Rakipi: You are there, so is Vokshi, and Fatmiri, because you are now going, but Fatmiri coexists with American politics... You definitely want Trump's victory. It seems that deep down even Edi Rama wants this. They are even ready with these business affairs, Zvrneci, Sazani... Even as a nature, it goes very well with Rama's nature. Don't get stuck in the mud and where will you get into then? That Trump likes this category like Rama.
Belind Kelliçi: The Republican Party is the sister of our party. We have a duty to support our sister party. So it is something natural. In this case, I don't know what the most loyal soldier of George Soros, Edi Rama, wants. I think it would be good for America but also for the world, for there to be a change in the USA and for President Trump to be elected. There would be a decrease in the influence of the Soros foundation in Albania. I don't care what Rama does.
Ylli Rakipi: There is another angle. Trump, in his four-year term, not having many successes, wanting to do things quickly, almost threw a part of Kosovo to the Serbs.
Belind Kelliçi: It is not true. There was an agreement signed at the White House. The exchange of territories was a hypothetical thesis. There is no position from Trump, which reinforces this idea of exchanging territories. There may have been an initial idea, floated by former adviser John Bolton. Even with contacts in Michigan, with leaders of Albanian organizations, with everyone who is in contact with representatives of the Republican party, they claim that there is no such plan.
