Prime Minister Edi Rama has spoken in detail about Zvërnec, while not sparing accusations and attacks on those he considered opponents of the project, who even exploit the situation in Gaza to oppose foreign investments in Albania.
Rama was categorical when he said that if these investors leave Albania, no more will come, thus emphasizing the importance of this issue for the future of the country, in relation to foreign investments.
" I endure everything that the perverts, who unfortunately have fallen to be my opponents, tell me. I endure it not because I accept it, but because I have endured violence on my father's bones, on my wife's face and on my children. I endure it because I think that I am here for you and with you. If you also think like them, tell me and continue with whoever else you want. I am not here to vegetate. Either we will make Albania according to that vision for which you have supported me, or tell me that you want to go with Sazo Guri and Arlindo Dritëgjati.
But if we forget the main role we have in this process, which is to create the right climate for welcoming investors, then we are making a mistake. If these investors leave, the problem is not only that Zvërneci will not be built. The problem is that others will not come for who knows how long, because they will say: 'When these did not succeed, there is no one to deal with them there, '" Rama said in his speech.
The Prime Minister continued by saying that the Zvërnec project, which would be the first of its kind in the Mediterranean and Europe, would lead Albania towards elite tourism. "Why should we look at Greece with envy for Costa Navarino? What was it? A protected area. I look at Greece with admiration, but with envy why? Sveti Stefan in Montenegro? Why should we look at Croatia with envy? Do we want to compete with them? I cannot leave mass tourism as part of my mission. I want to leave things that make our children proud. But how can we increase salaries more? Do we need to increase GDP or not?" Rama said.
During his speech, the Prime Minister also responded to those he considered to be believers without religion or faith, even though they appear to be Muslim believers, who play with the pain of Gaza. "They are not believers, as long as they spread slander. They say that the Israelis are taking Zvërnec and, taking advantage of that pain for Gaza, they are doing crazy things by instilling hatred for Jews. These people are without religion or faith. They talk about Israeli investors, when in reality they are from Qatar ," said Rama.
