The Foreign Secretary of Great Britain, David Cameron will come to Tirana on May 22, who will be received by Prime Minister Rama around 12:00.
It is anticipated that the meeting with the Prime Minister will last about an hour, while a press conference will be held afterwards.
First, he will be received by his counterpart, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Igli Hasani, and then at 12.00 the meeting with the head of the government will take place.
At 14:30 the British Foreign Secretary will be received by President Bajram Begaj.
The British tabloid "The Sun" writes that Cameron will come to Albania to present a new program against corruption and organized crime in Albania, as well as to present a new plan to attack the organized criminal gangs that are behind the trafficking of human beings.
This visit comes after a phone call between Prime Minister Edi Rama and his British counterpart on May 10. The Albanian and British governments have been engaged since December 2022 through an agreement on the joint fight against illegal immigration to Great Britain, as a large number of Albanians crossed illegally through the English Channel.
One of the measures taken by the British government was to send thousands of immigrants entering Great Britain to Rwanda, the cancellation of which Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has described as a danger to Great Britain.
