
The first distribution of ballots for Albanian citizens living abroad has begun.
By 3:00 PM, 70,362 envelopes were sent to the Albanian diaspora, which include ballots for the regions of Durrës, Dibër, Kukës and Berat.
According to official data, 11 people confirmed receiving the envelopes at their addresses, while the delivery process continues.
The highest number of shipments is held by Italy with 30,688 envelopes, followed by Greece with 20,728, Germany with 7,008, the United Kingdom with 4,383 envelopes, and the United States of America with 2,963 envelopes sent.
For European countries, ballots are expected to arrive by April 22, while in other continents, the maximum arrival deadline is April 25.
Delivery will only be made in person by the postman, who will make up to three attempts to contact the voter. If contact is not achieved, the envelope will be left in the nearest mailbox.
Diaspora votes that arrive in Albania after 7:00 PM on May 11 will be considered invalid.
