Democratic Party MP Flutura Açka has reacted to the elections for the new head of the party. Açka writes that today we should not vote for the name, but for the final separation from transition and pseudo-European politics. The deputy says that this is a difficult battle, but not impossible.
"Clear political skies in democracy do not happen by nature like every time after the storm. For their clarity you have to leave the tent sign: to draw blue on blue. And the Democrats today have their mark. Today, the name is not voted on, but the irreversible process of democratization of the Democratic Party, the final separation from transition and pseudo-European politics is voted on. It is a difficult battle, very difficult, but not impossible", writes Açka on Facebook.
We remind you that 71 voting centers will be open from 08:00 to 19:00, to vote for the new president.
Two candidates are competing in this process, the former chief democrat Lulzim Basha and Gjergj Hani, the former persecuted political figure. The latter announced his candidacy against Basha on June 13.
While Gazment Bardhi's group is making every effort to stop Lulzim Basha from returning to the leadership of the Democratic Party, the latter's group will hold the elections for the new leader of the party today. In these elections, PD is going divided into 3 parts.
The number of members who are expected to go to the ballot boxes today has been reduced to less than 1/3 compared to the last 2021 elections in DP, from about 75 thousand Democratic members to 25 thousand.
The two candidates of a qualified race with a predetermined winner in the DP will vote in the rented headquarters. A day ago, the Chairman of the Electoral Commission in DP, Jemin Gjana, called on the democrats to vote, stressing that the process is legitimate.
