The return of the Kosovar diaspora for summer vacations has brought a significant increase in traffic on the National Highway, with a high flow of vehicles heading to Kosovo through the Vërmica border crossing.
As the end of July approaches, the number of vehicles and passengers has increased significantly, as thousands of compatriots living and working in various European countries are returning to their homeland to spend the August holidays.
As a result of this influx, increased traffic has been recorded at the Vërmica border crossing, especially during the midday hours, when queues of vehicles form at the entrance to Kosovo.
To avoid delays and long waits, Kosovo customs and police authorities have implemented expedited border control procedures, aiming to process vehicles and passengers as quickly as possible.
The National Highway continues to be the main transit corridor for the Kosovar diaspora traveling from European countries to Kosovo during the summer season, while authorities expect the flow to continue to increase in the coming days.
