The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has stated that nothing serves the peace and security of the region and Europe as Kosovo's membership in the European Union and the North Atlantic Alliance.
In a video address to the Socialist International, which is an organization of left-wing parties, Kurti said that the more the citizens of the Serbian community integrate into the Republic of Kosovo, the more difficult it is for Serbia to achieve its vision for territorial expansion.
"Just last year, Serbia kidnapped three policemen from within our borders and on September 24th it carried out a terrorist attack that killed a policeman, with the ultimate goal of annexing the northern part of our territory.... We are strongly committed to the values and ideas that permeate these organizations and there is nothing that would contribute more to peace, stability, security and democracy in the Western Balkans and Europe than the membership of Kosovo", the Prime Minister declared.
