SPAK has filed a claim for Fatime Kryemadhi, Pirro Xhixho and Ema Çoku, the three defendants in the case where Monika Kryemadhi and former president Ilir Meta, who has been arrested since October 21, 2024, are also accused.
Kryemadhi and Çoku are accused of money laundering, while Xhixho is accused of corruption, while the trial is being shortened, as they have admitted the charges according to the acts in the Special Prosecution's file.
For Fatime Kryemadhi, accused of money laundering committed in collaboration, SPAK has requested a sentence of 7 years and 6 months in prison. With a shortened trial, the sentence is reduced to 5 years in prison. For Kryemadhi, SPAK has also requested that the prison sentence be converted into 5 years of probation, taking into account her age.
For Pirro Xhixho, suspected of passive corruption of high-ranking state officials, SPAK has requested a sentence of 4 years and 6 months in prison. If the summary judgment is accepted, the sentence will be reduced to 3 years in prison.
For Ema Çoku, suspected of money laundering committed in collaboration, SPAK is requesting a sentence of 7 years in prison, with a reduced sentence of 4 years and 8 months in prison. Taking into account other circumstances, the prison sentence is suspended and the years on probation for 5 years.
For Kryemadhi and Meta, the process is being carried out with the usual procedure.
The Special Prosecution Office presented its final conclusions today, reading the evidence for a series of findings on financial sources that, according to the prosecution, are not justified.
According to SPAK, Fatime Kryemadhi does not justify 98 thousand euros, 246 thousand dollars, 100 thousand euros for loan repayment, as well as another 310 thousand euros that are considered to have an unjustified source.
The prosecution stated that two loans were taken out to purchase the apartments, but they were repaid with cash, which, according to the indictment, has no proven legal source.
"Two loans were taken to purchase the apartments, but the loans were repaid in cash, with unjustified sources. The notarial statements were compiled after Fatime Kryemadhi was questioned by the prosecution. The persons questioned regarding the cash loans have no trace of declaring the monetary amounts at the border crossing points," SPAK stated.
In its conclusions, the Special Prosecution Office also focuses on Ema Çoku, who it claims had a close relationship with Monika Kryemadhi.
According to SPAK, this relationship is proven not only by frequent communications between them, but also by a series of banking transactions. The prosecution claims that Ema Çoku signed notarial statements, according to which she had given Fatime Kryemadhi 240 thousand euros.
SPAK also points out that Ema Çoku's company paid hotel bills for foreign citizens who had come to support the Socialist Movement for Integration (LSI), as well as expenses related to activities of the Youth Movement for Integration (LRI).
The prosecution adds that Ema Çoku was a debtor to second-tier banks for loans in significant amounts and, according to her, did not have the financial means to make such donations.
"Ema Çoku has attempted to justify the actions of the other defendants in this proceeding through notarial statements ," SPAK's final conclusions state.
