Prime Minister Albin Kurti has described the draft for the Association of municipalities with a Serbian majority, proposed by the European Union and the United States of America, as "incomparably more advanced" than the previous agreements.
In a statement to journalists from the National Judo Center in Peja, he added that this does not mean that Kosovo is satisfied with the content of the draft, while he emphasized that he cannot publish the content of the draft or his letter with remarks. "for the sake of confidentiality".
" For the sake of the confidentiality of the draft, he cannot even talk about my remarks and criticisms. They are very important. I conveyed it to the European emissary, through my deputy Besnik Bislimi, on October 24, two days before we meet in Brussels. This is a completely different draft, incomparably more advanced, but this does not mean that we are satisfied, so I have also sent my remarks and criticisms , "said Kurti.
The Prime Minister of Kosovo reiterated that he offered to sign the agreement only as part of the package and not as separate documents.
" We said that we agree to sign the package that includes the Basic Agreement, the Implementation Annex, and also the draft for which we previously sent comments, but since we were told in Brussels that it is urgent to normalize relations, I agreed to sign it with what "signing is acceptance, but only as part of the package" , Kurti said, adding that in it he requested that Kosovo acquire the status of a candidate country for the EU and begin the path of admission to NATO.
