Kosovo's acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, has traveled to the United States of America to participate in the high-level week of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly, his office announced on Thursday.
Kurti will hold “bilateral meetings with leaders within the framework of the high-level week of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly,” the announcement said. The Prime Minister’s Office did not specify which leaders Kurti will hold bilateral meetings with.
She said that "through participation in the high-level week and the planned meetings, the aim is to deepen bilateral relations with partner countries, further strengthen the international subjectivity of our state in relation to non-recognizing countries, and present the opportunities and advantages that Kosovo offers to foreign investors."
During his stay in New York, Kurti will also meet members of the Albanian community in the US and representatives of diaspora associations, according to the announcement.
Kurti's trip to New York comes at a time when relations between Kosovo and the United States suffered a blow earlier this month.
