Kosovo's Ambassador to Germany, Faruk Ajeti, through a post on social media, shared a message from German MP Johannes Volkmann, while giving a speech in the Bundestag, where he mentions Kosovo.
Ajeti wrote that Volkmann, who is the nephew of former German Chancellor Helmut Kohl, one of Kosovo's biggest supporters, has demanded that Kosovo be accepted by all European Union states. The German MP has also called for Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe.
''Thank you Johannes! While Helmut Kohl's last speech in the Bundestag was on July 1, 1999, his grandson, Johannes, debuted yesterday with his first speech in the Bundestag and that with strong support for Kosovo, on the occasion of the vote to extend the Bundeswehr mission in Kosovo.
"An extraordinary speech, calling for the recognition of Kosovo by all EU states, its membership in the Council of Europe, and respect for the decision of the International Court of Justice," Ajeti wrote.
