The Kosovo Statistics Agency (ASK) announces that the rate of inactive persons of working age continues to remain quite high, 61.4 percent, increasing by 0.7 percent, compared to 2021.
In the report published on the Results of the Labor Force Survey for 2022 by KAS, it is stated that there are almost 1.2 million citizens of working age, over 400 thousand are employed, about 60 thousand are unemployed and over 733 thousand citizens are inactive, which will says that they are not employed, nor registered as unemployed, nor are they looking for work.
According to KAS, another fact is worrying, 98,705 young people are neither in school, nor in training, nor at work.
"The rate of inactivity continues to remain quite high (61.4%), increasing by 0.7%, compared to the previous year. The rate of inactivity among women was very pronounced with 78.0%, compared to men, 44.5%", says the report published on the Results of the Labor Force Survey for 2022 by the Kosovo Statistics Agency (ASK). .
Likewise, according to KAS, the employment rate was 2.7% higher than in the previous year (2021), the unemployment rate was lower for (-8.1%), while among young people (15 -24 years old), the unemployment rate was lower for (-16.6%) than in the previous year.
According to KAS, the unemployment rate in Kosovo for 2022 is 12.6%.
Also according to this report, active persons were 21 thousand 571 less than in the previous year, inactive persons were 14 thousand 698 less than in the previous year, employed persons were 20 thousand 509 more than in the previous year and persons unemployed were 42 thousand 80 less than in the previous year. /kp
