"Scandalous and shameful", Sweden's statement about today's

The connection that the Minister of the Interior, Xhelal Sveçla, made to today's protest of the veterans of the Kosovo Liberation Army with the hybrid war from Serbia, has provoked strong reactions in the public opinion. The statements of Svechla have been evaluated as scandalous and shameful by the leaders of the opposition political parties.

A few hours before the protest of KLA veterans started, Minister Sveçla made serious accusations towards its organization. Sveçla said that since Serbian President Aleksandar Vuçiç is losing the battle on the ground with Prime Minister Albin Kurti, now, according to the Minister of the Interior, Vuçiç has focused on the hybrid war to incite unrest within Kosovo. He considered today's veterans' protest as an incitement to unrest.

The chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Memli Krasniqi, considered Svechla's statements as a provocation to escalate the protests. For this, Krasniqi called on the veterans to exercise self-restraint.

"The government wants to clash. Through a scandalous and insulting statement against veterans and journalists, inciting above all - Albin Kurti's government is looking for a clash. Only a failed, irresponsible and unscrupulous Government, through its actions, seeks violence among its people", he wrote on Facebook.

The government, according to the head of the opposition, has lost its reason and is now looking for salvation in a civil conflict.

And the chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, demanded the dismissal of Svechla due to "offensive, inciting and reckless statements".

"Reckless, inflammatory and offensive statement of the Minister of Internal Affairs. The baseless labeling of journalists and the shameful insult of ex-combatants - even if we do not agree with them - is a new low level of policy-making in the Republic. Ignoring communication of the head of the party with a terrorist, and building inciting and confrontational language with full of imagination is a masquerade", Abdixhiku wrote on Facebook, "Koha" reports.

The chairman of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, has called on Prime Minister Albin Kurti to withdraw "his sejmen" and stop dividing and dividing the people.

"Power is not everything. Albin Kurti, pull back your sejmen. Let the people protest for their right and don't divide and divide the people. What you once used as rights for yourself (protests and demonstrations) do not try to stop others. It is not the fault of the veterans, nor the civil society, nor the media, nor the journalists, nor the opposition! It is your own fault that you are not governing the country, but you are trying to rule it. Today I am with all those protesting in the squares of Pristina!", Haradinaj wrote on Facebook.

There was also a reaction to Svečla's statements from the Association of Journalists of Kosovo. AGK has seen with concern the post of Minister Sveçla, "in which he uses dangerous and unacceptable language towards the media and journalists".

Meanwhile, he condemned the language of two media owners whom Sveçla mentioned.

"Such language endangers the safety of the mentioned journalists and is part of the government's ongoing attempt to intimidate the media," the reaction says.

There was also a reaction to the statements of Svečla from various opposition MPs.

The possible protest by the veterans was being discussed since the publication of several recordings that include the head of the Parliamentary Group of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, with the former deputy of the Serbian List, Slavko Simic. The non-inclusion of veterans in the Minimum Wage Law on Thursday "sealed" the day of the protest.

The protest is expected to be held today from 18:00 in "Skenderbeu" square in Pristina.
