Vucic: In Brussels they asked me to recognize Kosovo, it is not easy to say
Aleksandar Vucic

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said in an interview for "Tanjug" that it has been agreed that a new round of dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade will be held in Brussels on November 6 or 7, but he thought that the other side would not accept this.

He explained that in Brussels, European leaders asked him when he will sign the independence of Kosovo.

"They literally told me, "Alexander, you have this option. Do you want to sign it?” and I answered that "I didn't want to". "You think it's easy to say no? Its not. These are great leaders, responsible for the fate of Europe" - said Vucic.

Asked if these are threats, Vučić said that he would not call them such, but that he fully understands that Serbia may face consequences.

"I would be lying if I said that these are threats and that these people have inappropriate language. They are good people with whom we have good relations", said Vucic.

Asked why European leaders still insist that he sign Kosovo's independence, even though it is assumed that Albin Kurti behaves irresponsibly in the dialogue, Vucic says that they know, but signing for Kosovo's independence is a logical thing for them.

"We are a pebble in their shoes. My stubborn repetition of all the stories of the bombings in 1999 and the destruction of all international legal norms are a pebble in their shoe. At some point, the conflict in Ukraine will have to end. Their argument will be correct. You violated the territorial integrity of Ukraine, an internationally recognized country, but the counter-argument will be: Yes. You did it much more brutally, without the decision of the Security Council. 19 of you committed an aggression against a small country, Yugoslavia", said Vucic.
