New details have come to light from the execution of 30-year-old Liridona Ademaj three months ago in the village of Brërnica in Pristina, where the main accused remains her husband Naim Murseli.
News24 was able to secure an interview with an American Special Forces officer, also resident in Pristina and known for years with Naim Murseli, from whom Murseli asked for an approximate amount of money, with what he offered to his wife's executor .
American operative Donnie Lowery tells how he met Naim Murseli and how the latter, a few days before the murder of Liridona Ademaj, asked him for a large amount of money, which is close to the amount that Murseli allegedly paid Granit Plava for the murder of friend.
Journalist: How do you know Naim Murseli?
"I know Naim Murseli from his friendship with President Behxhet Pacolli. I have known Pacolli for many years, since the time when we tried to cooperate, to bring the McDonald's brand to Kosovo, but the attempt was unsuccessful. Two years ago Mr. Pacolli and Naimi came to Miami, invited to the wedding of President Trump's daughter, Tiffany Trump. I met Nami the day after and that was our first date.”
Further, the American officer tells what connected him, to keep in touch with Murseli and how frequent their communication was...
"Naim and I met one more time in Kosovo, as I wanted to buy a house in Pristina. Naim would help me with the procedures of buying the apartment and after that I only spoke with him a few times on the phone, nothing beyond that."
Although their communication was scarce, a few days before the murder of Liridona, Murseli asked the American operative for a considerable amount of money, reasoning that he was facing a big problem. He even promised to return double the loan.
"He called me two or three times. He was very worried, he asked me for money and more than he needed as soon as possible. He also promised to pay me back, even double the money he asked for. There was no chance of giving him money, I didn't trust him as a person. The whole situation seemed silly to me."
This amount of money that he asked you, he never gave the reason why he wanted it?
"No, no way."
Journalist: And while he was on the phone, did you notice how an unknown man, whom you had only met a few times, who you had talked to a little on the phone, asked you to borrow money? What impressions did this request for money give you?
"I do not know. It is strange to me because he was a friend of President Pacolli. Why should he ask me for help and money? The whole situation made no sense and confused me to no end. How is it possible that a man who hangs out with people who have power and influence would ask me for help?"
Asked if he informed Mr. Pacolli about Naim Murseli's request, the American officer denies having discussed anything with him.
"No no. I didn't talk to Bexhet."
Among other things, the American operative Donnie Lowery said that he is ready to testify before the Court of Pristina about the amount of money that Naim Murseli asked for a few days before the murder of Liridona.
On the other hand, the Basic Court of Pristina decided on February 27 to leave the three suspects for the murder of Liridona, her husband Naim Murseli, Granit Plava and Kushtrim Kokalla in custody for another two months. Naim Murseli is accused of "felony murder in complicity".
