Singer Liam Payne has died after falling from the balcony of his third-floor hotel room at the 'CasaSur Palermo' hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
TMZ first broke the news, informing readers that Liam had been "behaving erratically" shortly before he died. His actions attracted considerable attention moments before the tragic fall, as he allegedly smashed his laptop in the lobby and had to be carried to his room.
Footage from the singer's room shows a smashed TV, a powdery substance believed to be drugs and numerous other items, including candles, aluminum foil, a soap dish, a can of burnt gas, a lighter, strewn around the room .
According to Reuters, police were notified of an "aggressive man who may be under the influence of drugs and alcohol."
Payne also posted on Snapchat Story before his death. Although now deleted, one of his posts suggested he was having a "lovely day" on holiday with his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy.
The latter flew back to Florida earlier this week, while Liam stayed behind. The One Direction star's trip to Argentina began earlier this month as he went to support his bandmate Niall Horan, who was performing there.
