Born actor/ He pretended to faint when he had to pay the bill in the restaurant,

A migrant has been arrested after he pretended to have a heart attack to avoid paying bills at at least 20 restaurants in Spain.

The 50-year-old, originally from Lithuania, will spend 42 days behind bars after failing to pay several bills thanks to his theatrical schemes.

His manner of acting was identical in almost every restaurant he went to, most of them located on the Costa Blanca.

"He always ordered the usual: a few glasses of 'White Label' whiskey and a Russian salad, a dish he seems to like a lot," said a restaurant owner. "It was played very well, he pretended to faint and fell to the floor," said the manager of El Buen Comer.

A worker at Sale&Pepe said: "We all got a warning and his picture. We were told to be careful and not serve him anything."

Because each non-payment was a small amount of money, what this client has done is simply considered 'petty crime'.

However, the restaurant owners are now planning to file a joint complaint that could land them in jail for up to two years.

A lawyer from the prestigious Navarra Sancho firm said: "He has taken advantage of the legal system, with such small unpaid fines it is difficult to achieve a longer prison term."
