Spanish actor Gabriel Guevara, known for his roles in the film 'My Fault/Culpa Mia' and the Spanish version of the series Skam, was arrested in Venice after France issued an international arrest warrant for him on charges of sexual abuse.
Guevara, 22, was to receive an award from the Filming Italy festival for his performance in My Fault/Culpa Mia. Organizers told the Italian news agency that the awarding was postponed until the investigation into him was completed.
Ansa reported that Gabriel Guevara was arrested by police as he arrived at the Lido, where the 80th edition of Mostra, the Venice International Film Festival, is being held. An Italian court will decide in the coming days whether to extradite him to French authorities.

"In the case of the information published in the last few hours on several websites about the arrest in Venice of the Spanish actor Gabriel Guevara, the Venice Biennale clarifies that his presence in Venice is not related to any activity or production of the festival, the announcement states.
