Mira Konçi and Shpëtim Saraçi brought hits throughout their years of residence in Albania, resulting in a successful artistic duo. Later, their chemistry in art escalated into life and from their love came two children, Era and Drini.
With Era's departure to the US for studies, the couple and their son joined her in 2017.
Mira Konçi revealed yesterday afternoon on the "Rudina" program that, in addition to the children's education, one of the reasons was also health care for the composer.
Over time, things changed. The singer says that there was an agreement between them that he would continue his career in Albania, while Mira would stay with the children in the US, as it was impossible for her not to be with them.
Mira Konçi: It was seen along the way that Shpëtimi felt better here and an agreement was made, if we call it an 'agreement', that I could not leave the children alone in any way, I could not. They were not at all young, but it was the most critical age, I could not, even Drin, Era had just finished school, I had to be there for Era, we could not wait for that moment, Drin was in his second year of high school, it was impossible to leave him alone.
Rudina Magjistari: I think every mother would do this, it's normal, without a doubt.
Mira Konçi: Thank you! Something so natural, I couldn't do anything else and that's how it came about.
She says that initially she didn't really agree, but she also understood his position.
Mira Konçi: Of course, Shpëtimi had built everything here, in Albania, and that is absolutely understandable to some extent, even though I didn't really agree, I wanted us to be together.
The couple ended their marriage after 25 years together.
Asked if there will be a song composed by Saraçi in the future, his daughter, Era, has already taken the place, and she immediately had the answer:
"I'll join in. We talked about it with my dad a week ago about making a song with Drin, and Dad would make it for us, so that I could sing with Drin," she said enthusiastically.
