Sir Elton John has revealed that he has lost his sight in a confession about his health, described as "heartbreaking" by the international media.
He publicly accepted it on the evening of December 1 on the stage of the Dominion Theater in London, during a gala performance of the new musical "The Devil Wears Prada", for which the artist wrote the music.
“As some of you may know, I have had some problems and now I have lost my sight. I couldn't participate in the show, but I had fun", said the 77-year-old music legend, as he thanked his husband David Furnish whom he considered "my rock".
Last September, the 'Rocket Man' author admitted he was left with "limited vision" in one eye due to a "serious" infection, but assured he was on the mend.
“Over the summer I was dealing with a serious eye infection which unfortunately left me with limited vision in one eye,” he wrote on Instagram: “I'm recovering but it's an extremely slow process and it will take some time before the sight returns to the affected eye".
Last year Sir Elton played the final show of his UK farewell tour to around 120,000 people at Glastonbury.
