A person from the United Kingdom has won the third biggest prize in the history of the National Lottery, taking home a jackpot of 177 million pounds. The lucky winner, who has chosen to remain anonymous, went out to claim his EuroMillions prize following the draw on Tuesday, November 26.
National Lottery operator Allwyn confirmed on Tuesday that the huge £177,033,699.20 prize has been handed over to the winner. Now, this individual is richer than the combined fortunes of Dua Lipa, with an estimated fortune of 104 million pounds, and Michael Bublé, with an estimated 63 million pounds. The lottery winner is also richer than Adele, who is worth £170million, as well as Harry Styles and Anthony Joshua, who are both worth £175million, according to the latest Rich List the Sunday Times newspaper.
However, it still does not surpass the fortunes of Rory McIlroy (£225 million), Ed Sheeran (£340 million), and Lewis Hamilton (£350 million).
This mystery millionaire ranks as the third biggest winner in National Lottery history, behind Joe and Jess Thwaite from Gloucester, who won a record jackpot of £184,262,899 with a Lucky Dip ticket on 10 May 2022.
Meanwhile, another unknown winner from the UK won the record EuroMillions jackpot of £195 million on 19 July 2022. Andy Carter, winners' adviser at Allwyn, said:
We are delighted that this historic EuroMillions prize has been delivered. The possibilities with this huge amount of money are endless, and what a great time to win this prize – just before Christmas. They can make this holiday season even more special, perhaps by looking for a tropical vacation or a festive shopping trip to New York to celebrate. Whatever this winner decides to do with their money, our focus now is to support them in the process so they can start enjoying the win right away.
