The rule changes, the 34-year-old is declared Miss France

34-year-old Angélique Angarni-Filopon from Martinique won the Miss France pageant, making her the oldest contestant to win the title in France. She won after a rule change allowed women over 24, as well as those who are married or mothers, to compete in the pageant. Angélique is a flight attendant from the French Caribbean island of Martinique, who also competed in 2011 in her home country and was chosen first runner-up in the Miss Martinique pageant when she was 20 years old.

30 candidates, among them doctors and dentists, participated in the final. The pageant in France was held just days after the Miss Netherlands pageant was canceled after 35 years. Organizers said they were "changing" and would instead open a platform to share the stories of successful women and those struggling with issues such as unrealistic beauty standards.
