The case of the death of Isaac Andic , founder of the famous Mango brand, has taken a sharp turn . Spanish media reports that his son, Jonathan Andic , has been arrested and is being questioned by Catalan authorities as part of the investigation into the incident that occurred in December 2024.
The businessman's death was initially ruled a tragic accident after he fell from a cliff near the Montserrat area in Catalonia . However , the investigation has taken a different direction, with authorities now looking into the possibility of murder.
According to reports, Isaac Andic was on a family hike in the Montserrat caves when he fell from a height of over 100 meters. He was accompanied by his son, Jonathan, who was also the person who notified authorities of the incident.
Sources close to the investigation say that police have found inconsistencies in the evidence , as well as suspicious elements related to the data from the victim's phone. These developments led to the reopening of the case in October 2025 as a possible murder investigation.
The Andic family had previously stated that they fully believed in Jonathan's innocence , while the court has maintained complete confidentiality over the investigative process. Currently, Jonathan Andic, who holds the position of vice president of the Mango company , is under official investigation.

Isaac Andic was born in Istanbul in 1953 , to a Sephardic Jewish family originally from Thessaloniki. In the 1960s , his family moved to Catalonia, where he began selling shirts on the streets of Barcelona.
In 1984 , together with his brother Nachman, he founded Mango , turning the brand into one of the largest fashion companies in the world, with over 2,500 stores in 110 countries.
Known for his low public profile, Andic avoided interviews and media appearances, while being considered one of the main rivals of Amancio Ortega, the founder of Zara . According to Forbes magazine , his fortune was estimated at around $4.5 billion.
