The events, separated by time and place, come at a time when beach attendance is increasing due to high temperatures.
But beyond the tragedy, what has ignited the networks is an unexpected reaction from former Big Brother VIP Albania resident, Arsida Cerpja.
Through an Instagram post, she shared a personal belief that sparked numerous reactions.
"In Italy, an old belief says that on June 29th you should not swim in the sea. I saw today that two people had drowned in the sea in Albania. Had you heard of this superstition before?" she writes, linking yesterday's cases to what she describes as a "cursed" date.
