A former Mattel employee has described her experience working for the creators of the most famous doll in history.
Lara Weber has expressed the best impressions about the branch in Australia, stressing that the work environment was completely different from the one shown in the film.
"It was the opposite of what it was really like to work there," she says in the video posted on Tik Tok. Each office partition was toy-themed while there were meeting offices for both Barbie and Hot Wheels.
"It was the most fun and colorful office." Weber explains that most of the leadership functions were held by women. Its head, as well as that of other departments, were women. The young woman adds that she not only enjoyed the culture of the work environment, but it is also one of the "best" she has been a part of.
In the Barbie movie, Mattel designed it differently, leaving viewers to wonder if director Gerwig was correct. Weber's followers reacted with enthusiasm to her post after learning that the work environment was actually warm and welcoming.
While a former employee at the Los Angeles branch wrote: “The Australian office looks more fun. I worked at the head office in Los Angeles and we didn't have toy themed offices. We could just keep toys on our tables."
Meanwhile, "Barbie" is still collecting profits from the release of the film, reaching almost 300 million dollars in just one week.
