The well-known Albanian singer Alma Bektashi, who ended her marriage in the summer of 2021, has not yet separated by letters, and the reason is the Court.
Between Kosovo and Tirana, the artist is stuck in a civil process that has been postponed for two years. The next session was announced to be held in December, but it has not yet taken place.
"I still don't understand. Imagine for me that I have over 30 years of performing arts career and over 20 years of teaching career at the University of Pristina, this thing happens to me. Imagine those women who are at home can be at home, who probably don't even have the economic side, they don't have the support of the family and face this thing that I am facing these two years. I don't understand, I don't know what procedure to follow, when you ask for a divorce because you don't want to go through those psychological, emotional problems and financial difficulties that I need within these two years, I don't even know how much I spent for this trial" - she told "Top Channel".
The court's argument this time was not to find a psychologist for the children, who should be questioned.
"I have heard and seen that a divorce happens in five weeks to six months. I never thought it could take two years. On December 4, it will be a year since we can't find a psychologist for the boy. The best thing is that when the next session takes place, my son will be 17 years old and he is 1 meter 80 centimeters tall. What can psychology say to him, 'little soul, do you love mommy or daddy?', because this is illogical".
She says that she has not yet received any information about how her court process will continue.
"I don't have any information, I don't even know how the courts go. It's the first time I've appeared in court, it never occurred to me".
Due to the considerable stock of pending cases, and on the other hand due to the lack of judges, the duration of the trial of divorce files has exceeded any reasonable deadline.
