In an interview given to Meriton Mjekiqi, Gashi also mentioned his collaboration with Ledri Vula. But he surprised by telling an incident that had not been made public before, where he said that many people had told him that he had "degraded himself" by collaborating with Ledri.
Gashi recalled that several people, including Ledri's close friends, had criticized him for this decision, even asking him: "Why did you do the song with Ledri?"
'When I did the song with Ledri, everyone told me: Why did you do the song with Ledri? People who hang out with Ledri told me that I was putting myself down for doing the song with Ledri. They told me 'why are you so patriotic'? Close friends of Ledri told me that I was putting myself down for doing the song with him. For me, Ledri is one of the best artists in Kosovo. I love Ledri, I love his parents, his family, they are good people. I want to do songs with people from Albania, from Kosovo. If you knew who told me this...'
