A federal lawsuit filed in the US has taken center stage against Beast Industries, a company affiliated with popular content creator Jimmy Donaldson, known as MrBeast, raising allegations of employee rights violations and unfair treatment in the workplace.
The lawsuit was filed by Lorrayne Mavromatis, a former employee of the company, who claims that she was fired after the birth of her child. According to her, during the period of pregnancy and immediately after the birth, she was forced to continue working without interruption and without full respect for her legal rights related to family and medical leave.
In court documents, Mavromatis also claims she experienced gender discrimination and a hostile work environment. She has also filed a complaint with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
On the other hand, Beast Industries representatives have denied the allegations, calling them untrue and unfounded. According to them, the termination of the employment contract was made as part of an internal restructuring process and has no connection to discrimination or the family status of the former employee.
The case has drawn wider attention to the way large digital creative companies operate, at a time when the activity of MrBeast and his businesses is expanding into other fields such as media and financial technology.
The case is expected to be reviewed in court, with the parties holding opposing positions on the incident.
