Donatella Versace has made her first public appearance since stepping down as creative director of the Versace brand. The 69-year-old designer partied at the Tramp nightclub in London, accompanied by supermodels Kate Moss and Amber Valletta.
Donatella, dressed in a black leather jacket and distressed jeans, appeared in good spirits despite speculation she was leaving the luxury brand. After more than two decades at the helm of Versace, reports have suggested tensions with the Capri Holdings group, which bought the brand in 2018.
However, the fashion icon will not miss her presence in the luxury industry, as she will continue as a Versace ambassador and focus on philanthropic projects.
Donatella Versace's departure has raised questions about the future of the brand, as her connections with showbiz stars - from Taylor Swift to Beyoncé and Jennifer Lopez - have been essential to Versace's success. The creative direction has now been entrusted to Dario Vitale, who promises to preserve the legacy of the famous fashion house.
